STICKY GARLIC SESAME CHICKEN

Ingredients-
Marinade:
- 2 chicken breasts or 4 thighs 
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce 
- 1/2 tsp black pepper 
- 1 garlic clove, grated 
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 
Sauce:
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce 
- 3 tbsp tomato ketchup 
- 2 garlic cloves, grated 
- 1 tsp ginger, grated 
- 2 tbsp honey 
Rice:
- 1 tsp oil 
- 1 ramekin rice 
- Pinch salt 
- 2 ramekins water 
- Toasted sesame seeds 
- Green vegetables (spinach, peas, asparagus, broccoli) 
Instructions-
- Marinate the Chicken: - Combine chicken with light soy sauce, black pepper, grated garlic, and bicarbonate of soda. 
- Set aside to marinate for at least 15 minutes. 
 
- Prepare the Rice: - In a saucepan, heat oil and add rice and a pinch of salt. 
- Fry until lightly golden. 
- Add water and boil for exactly 10 minutes. 
- Remove from heat (keeping the lid on) and let it rest for at least 5 minutes. 
 
- Brown the Chicken: - Brown the marinated chicken in a pan with a small amount of oil. 
- Once golden, set aside. 
 
- Make the Sauce: - In the same pan, combine light soy sauce, tomato ketchup, grated garlic, grated ginger, and honey. 
- Simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes. 
 
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: - Add the browned chicken back into the pan with the sauce. 
- Ensure the chicken is well-coated with the sauce and simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes. 
 
- Serve: - Serve the honey soy chicken over the golden rice. 
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
